Introducing: WILD MOCCASINS.

I don’t know much about WILD MOCCASINS, and I know it’s only one track, but judging from the video and biog. below, we could all be hearing a bit more in the coming months. Here’s the story so far:

With a collection of songs that web male-female vocals of couple Zahira Gutierrez and Cody Swann, as well as pop-infused percussion and string work, Wild Moccasins, a quintet of 20-somethings from Houston, TX, offer a sound that balances a musical guile beyond the band’s years. Winners of “Best EP” in this year’s Houston Press Music Awards, the two-year-old band has now finished recording its first full length, Skin Collision Past, and will be touring the United States this spring, summer, and fall to support the newest release.
Wild Moccasins are perhaps best known in their native Texas for their uncanny ability to sell-out live shows. For a local group with no major label to consistently accomplish such a feat is definitely worth mentioning. The mere release of their EP, ‘Microscopic Metronomes,’ actually resulted in some significant amount of press noting how they are one of the few local acts that have no trouble selling out a show.
The explanation behind their passionate fan base can be found in the one aspect of Wild Moccasins that is most prevalent: their energy. The passion for music that all five members emit both in the studio and on the stage is one to marvel at.

The band is:
Nicholas Cody – Bass
Zahira Gutierrez – Vocals/Organ
Andrew Lee – Guitar
John Baldwin -Drums
Cody Swann – Vocals/Guitar

Discography:
Skin Collision Past -2011
Microscopic Metronomes -2009
