Go-X (or Go Ten) are another one of those Welsh pop-punky type bands but there’s a slightly sharper edge to them that makes them stand out from their peers.
‘Pi’ roars out of the gates with driving drums, galloping guitars and vocals which sound like Anthony Kiedis on fast forward.
B-sides ‘Nom,’ ‘Frame’ and ‘In Vogue’ are all just as good, the sheer volume and energy of them elevating them beyond the sound well-travelled by their contemporaries. It’s quite amazing the effect that doing something different with the vocals can have to a pop-punk tune.
This is definitely a band to seek out, and it will be interesting to see if the energy captured in the studio will translate to live performance.
