Yup, that’s right! It’s the Olympic Rings on LOUD HORIZON.
See – the only thing that can realistically keep me away from music for any length of time, is sport! And this is why you will not have seen much in the way of new posts to the blog over the past few days ….. and why you will not see too many others coming these next ten days or so!
(For me, this first week has been all about the Handball, Basketball and Gymnastics. But come the Track & Field sessions I’m really gonna have to be prised out my seat to go to work!)
To be fair, I have been tied up in the past week or two with prepping articles for the next couple of issues of ARTROCKER MAGAZINE, copies of which will be posted here in due course.
I should have a few brief pieces up over the next few days, and will post a review of the forthcoming debut album by DARK HORSES. (Last year I predicted great things for THE SAVAGE NOMADS .. and it is all coming together nicely for them, but this year’s big tip is most definitely DARK HORSES!)
Anyway – in celebration of Europe’s best festival, REBELLION, ( which opens this Thursday, the 2nd August and which I can’t make for the third year in a row due to work commitments …… aaaaargh!) I think I’ll console myself by posting a selection of sounds & videos by some of the bands playing.
Thanks for sticking with LOUD HORIZON. Normal service will be resumed after hundreds of dreams have been realised; thousands of hopes crumble; the Olympic cauldron fizzles out and I regain the use of my legs, having had my arse moulded to the contours of the settee for sixteen days solid!
Here’s the first of the REBELLION selection:
(Actually, the ‘band’ will be appearing as The Choking Victim Show. Those familiar with LEFTOVER CRACK, will know that CHOKING VICTIM were the forerunners and that Stza Crack has been -unsuccessfully- trying to bring a re-united line-up to the UK for a number of years. So, Dublin’s Chewing On Tinfoil have stepped up the mark and they will back Stza on this visit throughout which the whole set will comprise original CV songs.)
