DOLDRUMS: ‘She Is The Wave.’

Montreal producer DOLDRUMS has just announced plans for the release of his debut album ‘Lesser Evil,’, come February 2013. Currently on a European tour that will take in the UK towards the end of the month – see below –  the new single ‘She Is The Wave,’ the video of which follows is now available .

I’m not too sure just how much of this ‘electronic’ stuff I would like, but the single is I think just excellent! It’s all over the place, but in the right place at the right time in saying that.  It has a distinct ‘experimental’ vibe and steers away from the dreaded dance culture that I abhor … although I dare say it will be adapted / adopted for that particular purpose! But anyway – that’s how I justify liking it in my own simple little way!

‘She Is The Wave,‘ provides a new glimpse into the intense, intoxicating & unsettled world of Airick Woodhead. Developing the chaotic yet brilliant take on the warehouse club jam that has already become a DOLDRUMS trademark, the track brings together samples, beats and Woodhead’s boyish-verging-on-androgynous vocals to create a track that is at once exhilarating and disorientating.
