GARDEN OF ELKS – spooky coincidence, or what..?

Funny how things turn out, eh?

On Wednesday evening, I posted a little ‘Introducing’ item on new band GARDEN OF ELKS. On Thursday night, I met up with the lads from BAD FOR LAZARUS for a chat ahead of their gig at Nice ‘n’ Sleazy in Glasgow, and guess who I heard playing in the first support slot downstairs?!

Obviously Niall and Ryan have played numerous shows with their other bands, but this was only the second gig for GARDEN OF ELKS, and I’ve got to say .. they truly kicked it! Strong, powerful riffs with an incessant, bouncing and aggressive beat were the order of the day.

Yeah – they will definitely play in front of bigger crowds as the word gets around, but while the punters may have been thin on the ground for the evening’s opening act, they can take satisfaction in having drawn favourable comment from the headliners who have also been members of  Nine Inch Nails and Eighties Matchbox B Line Disaster.

Not a bad night’s work, then.
