On 3rd February LOUD HORIZON streamed the new ‘Aquarena’ EP from Austin’s BLACK BOOKS. Well, now here comes the video for the lead track, ‘Favorite Place.’
Christophe Thockler (Bombay Bicycle Club) directed the imaginative video using a unique stop-motion style which manipulated a wide range of materials and elements (cotton, fabric, lego, snooker balls, fire and ice…).For this video he attracted the interest of Bragard, a major French cloth manufacturer who provide the uniforms for the Queen’s staff. They donated many rolls of fabric and gave him access to their world-class sewing machines which he used to ‘write’ the lyrics to ‘Favorite Place’. The making-of the video involved 10 000 photos,1 km of thread, 350 reels of thread, 73 000 embroidery stitches, 6 kg of scraps of fabric and 100 needles and sewing pins.
(It certainly kept one of my cats transfixed as I watched it!)
Ach! What the hell … here’s a stream of another track from the EP again in case you missed it earlier!
