SPRING KING: new band … I think.

SPRINGKING - logo - 200 - Marck 2013OK  so this won’t take long!

I received a rather scant and vague e-mail a short while ago simply saying that there was very limited information available, but that I may be interested in checking out this Manchester based band, SPRING KING.

Normally, I’d just ‘bin’ such messages, but for some reason something sparked my curiosity and so I had a listen.

There’s a comforting familiarity about the sound – like an amalgam of many ‘artrock’ bands. It’s quirky but immediately accessible and although I’ve said it has that air of familiarity, it’s also very different. Strange.

At LOUD HORIZON I receive so much ‘new music’ every day, it takes something special to have me raving about a band after only one listen. I’d generally be looking for something more to go on before writing about a band – but I’ll nail my colours to the mast right here and now:

YES! I’m into this. Big time!

To put it into perspective, Dark Horses and The Savage Nomads are two of the few bands that have impressed so immediately.

Right now, I’m told there is no Facebook page or biography available … it’s all very mysterious. But I have found THIS page which I think may relate as it ties up with the band’s blog page.

As soon as here’s more drip-fed PR, then it’ll be here on LOUD HORIZON.
