Not that I have any copies to sell, and not that anyone is likely to be interested in what I’ve been shelling out for, but here’s the latest additions to my own personal vinyl collection.
Firstly, from Dunedin, New Zealand come THE DEAD C and their new album, ‘Armed Courage.” I’m new to this band, I have to say but I’m glad I found them. They have been playing their experimental / noise / post rock hybrid since 1986, and this latest offering is oozing class!
Next comes long-time LOUD HORIZON favourites BO NINGEN. Of course ‘Line The Wall’ was released on CD format at the tail end of last year, but bowing to public demand, Stolen recordings have now released the album as a ‘double vinyl.’ There is also the bonus track of ‘Part 3‘ of the epic ‘Daikaisei‘ which does not appear on the CD version. Although I already had a copy on CD format, this double album on vinyl was simply a ‘must buy!’
Here’s a video featuring some footage from Bo Ningen’s sell out show at Dingwalls earlier this year (filmed and edited by Kenichi Iwasa.)
And while I’m on it, no LOUD HORIZON post about BO NINGEN is ever complete without me adding the video from St Leonard’s Church. It’s the law! (Oh, and it seems like a good excuse also to link you back to an ARTROCKER interview I did with Taigen about a year ago!)
And finally, keeping the BO NINGEN connection going, my third vinyl purchase these past couple of weeks was the limited re- release (250 copies) on purple vinyl of MAINLINER’s ‘Mellow Out‘ album. This I guess is one of the classic all-time Noise albums and of course the new line-up that recently toured UK saw BO NINGEN bassist Kawabe Taigen join forces with original members Kawabata Mokoto (Acid Mothers Temple) and Koji Shimura.
Get some of this wrapped around your lugs!
