LOUD HORIZON has been around in various forms since 2006, though it’s been on a bit of a hiatus this past twelve months.
I set the blog up principally to review new music. At the time, I was writing for Artrocker Magazine and the two roles worked well together with several bands initially featured on the site going on to establish burgeoning reputations and exposure.
The blog’s principal aim this time around, was to focus on THE UNDERPLAYED, THE UNDER PAID an UNDERRATED bands of the 1960s and 1970s …. pretty niche, huh?
This was the era I lived through as a kid and youth – the time we all generally form our musical tastes. And with such a diverse mix of genres, subcultures and fashions throughout these two decades, it’s fair to say I have quite an eclectic taste in music.
However, I do miss the excitement of hearing the music being produced today, and so I have once again opened up the blog to feature current bands looking to promote their work.
As LOUD HORIZON is pretty much simply a personal labour of love, the focus will be very much along the lines of the following, both past and present:
punk; new wave; pub rock; classic rock; heavy rock; blues rock; stoner rock; desert rock; progressive rock; 60s garage; 60s R&B; psychedelic; psych; reggae; ska; dub … you get the picture!
With such easy access to music, I no longer think ‘reviews’ or opinion of a band’s recordings by likes of LOUD HORIZON are as valid these days.
So the plan is to ‘feature’ the bands and music I like, both past and present, with relevant You Tube / recordings, that will allow the reader to form their own opinion.
